I first met Mike Neale in the 1990's in the Westminster 2 Valuation Office in Fouberts Place off Regent Street. We became friends almost straight away. He was interested in art and during breaks we visited the art galleries in Trafalgar Square and also the Wallace Collection off Oxford Street. He liked swimming and we would go to the pool near the office in Marshall Street - breaststroke in the slow lane. He also liked a curry and on Fridays we went first to the vegetarian Mandir near Tottenham Court Road then later to the Indian YMCA. I have good memories of Mike and will miss him.
I remember Michael as a sweet, gentle, and kind person. Concerts, meals, parties, or dancing lessons - he was just lovely to be around, and he lit up a room. With fondest memories Birte (Twisselmann)
